"My father? A rock, a force of nature," says Laura Armitage. "Dark, wavy hair and black eyes that could see right through me. From what I remember of him, Dad was six-foot-four and two-hundred-and-twenty pounds of muscles who could break a grown man's neck with one hand then would come home to his Butterfly, as he used to call me. He got me into martial arts, I got hooked so fast I ditched ballet and my tutu for an aikido stick and never looked back.

Jim told me Dad won a 'Mr. Brooklyn' title when he was younger, which doesn't come as a surprise to me because he was quite a handsome fella... They met at the Farm and worked together ever since. His strength was what got him noticed at first, but his recruiter quickly realized Jonathan Armitage was no idiot and was a smart as they come. He was good at what he did, not that salesman gig... that was just for the neighbors so that they wouldn't start wondering why he couldn't make it to all PTA meetings, missed a few family gatherings and traveled so often, sometimes returning at the wee hours of the morning after days spent away from home.

When I was old enough to understand and started doing Intel work myself, Jim told me Dad was one of the many dark stars embedded in the lobby main wall over at the Agency HQ in Langley, you know, the one that lists the nameless heroes of the Intel war. He never described the exact circumstances of my father's death, telling me only his last words were for my mother and I, but Jim said Jonathan Armitage was one of the best NOCs he had ever worked with, a consummate professional with amazing physical abilities. Says I take after him... Fine by me because I wanted to be just like him."
